Packing list
Things that will be provided:
Bedding: Sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels.
Clinic PPE: Disposable masks, gowns, and a general supply of gloves.
Clinic Supplies: All dental equipment/supplies, vision supplies, glasses, and registration materials.
VBS Supplies: Everything needed for the Vacation Bible School program.
Medications: A complete list of clinic medications will be provided to the medical team once they are delivered.
THINGS THAT YOU NEED TO PACK
Personal toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.).
Flip-flops (specifically for the showers).
Closed-toe shoes (mandatory for working in the clinic).
Scrubs or appropriate daily clothing (Note: Laundry service will be available on-site for a small fee).
Personal medications (ensure you have enough for the entire duration of the trip).
Recommended Extra items to Pack:
Warm clothing layers (fleece, light jacket, or sweaters):Warm clothing layers (fleece, light jacket, or sweaters).
Expect comfortable daytime highs around 73°F. However, early mornings and nights will drop to around 53°F and feel quite crisp and chilly, so you will definitely want layers.
A poncho or rain jacket:A poncho or rain jacket.
July can bring rain, and a poncho is absolutely essential to keep your clothes from getting soaked during our Iguazú Falls boat tour!
A flashlight or headlamp (Optional)
We will be traveling together as a group, so this isn't strictly necessary, but it might still be helpful since winter days are short and it gets dark early in July.
Sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat.
Sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat: The winter sun can still be strong. Skin protection is highly recommended for our outdoor clinic and VBS work.
Insect repellent (with DEET or Picaridin).
Mosquitoes are still a factor in this environment, and high-quality repellent is strongly advised to protect against mosquito-borne illnesses.
A reusable water bottle
Staying hydrated is key while working in the clinics and running VBS. Bring a durable bottle you can refill with purified water on-site.
Travel Power Adapter: Paraguay primarily uses Type C and Type I electrical outlets running at 220V.
Please check your electronics (phone chargers, dental curing lights, etc.) to ensure they are dual-voltage, and bring a plug adapter!
